Open Call for Art Institutions to Join the Gaza Biennale
The Gaza Biennale invites art institutions worldwide to join us in presenting the work of Palestinian artists in Gaza, fearlessly creating work for Gaza, for the world, for the future, and for art. We seek partnerships that recognize our debt to this work, whose formal, aesthetic, and ecological interventions are critical to the field of art itself.
What might partnership entail?
- Featuring the Biennale: presenting the Gaza Biennale in your institution, promoting the event and its significance to your audiences.
- Hosting Exhibitions: Curating/co-curating any or all of the exhibitions of biennale artists, providing a space for their stories and creativity to be seen.
- Offering Artist Residencies: Provide at least one artist residency for a Gaza-based artist, enabling them to develop their work in your institution and engage with your community.
- Exploring New Collaborations: We encourage innovative approaches and new ideas for engagement that understand that artists in Gaza present an opportunity for us to transcend the worst of humanity through creativity.
- Hosting the Gaza Biennale in its totality: By working with our team, and the artists, we hope to present the Gaza Biennale in one location. How this is done will require creative curators unafraid to break established rules of art presentation, and who believe in the potential of art to change our world.
- What do you propose?
Please note that the Gaza Biennale organizational team has already been fundraising and supporting the artists and the production of their work.
Please submit your proposals by the end of the year.
About the Gaza Biennale:
The Gaza Biennale is a collective project that includes artists in the West Bank, Gaza, and abroad. The initiative arose in April 2023. It brings together artists, curators, and institutions from around the world to address urgent global issues. By participating in the Gaza Biennale, you are joining a movement that seeks to affirm Palestinian’s right to thrive and exist on their land through the transformative power of art.
